Media Miss the Real Story About Rick Santorum
Filed under: General
Posted by: Maria Vitale @ 2:29 pm

When former U.S. Senator Rick Santorum held a media availability shortly before the Celebrate Life Banquet in Harrisburg this week, a reporter asked him question after question about his possible Presidential run.  But the media never bothered to find out what actually motivated Santorum to take time out of his schedule to address Pennsylvania pro-lifers.  You’ll find the real story at http://www.lifenews.com/state5584.html .

Abortionist’s License Suspended
Posted by: Maria Vitale @ 7:41 am

Notorious abortionist Steven Brigham has had his license temporarily suspended by the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners.   The board ruled that Brigham is “a clear and imminent danger to the public health and safety.”   The board also stated that the abortionist “has consistently and repetitively engaged in manipulative and deceptive behavior…to eviscerate the protections afforded New Jersey patients.”

Previously, Brigham was barred from owning abortion centers in Pennsylvania for his lax safety standards.  You can read about the latest accusations against Brigham at  http://www.philly.com/philly/news/breaking/20101013_N__J__abortion_doctor_temporarily_suspended.html?page=1&c=y .

ACLU Wrong on Forced Abortions
Posted by: Maria Vitale @ 12:15 pm

Former U.S. Senator Rick Santorum has written an enlightening column about how wrong the American Civil Liberties Union is to try to force religious hospitals to perform abortions.  As Senator Santorum writes:

Apart from the dubious legal notions involved, the ACLU is contemplating an action that could eliminate at least 15 percent of the nation’s hospital beds - the proportion provided by Catholic hospitals alone. It’s threatening not only to trample the consciences of religious health-care workers and institutions, but to hurt every American through the loss of hospitals, doctors, and nurses who can no longer carry out their ministry of healing.

Planned Parenthood Targets Minorities
Posted by: Maria Vitale @ 7:16 am

The niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Alveda King, has written an insightful article about how Planned Parenthood targets minorities.  Many people do not realize that Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion operation in the U.S.  A disproportionate number of those abortions are performed on African-American women.

As Alveda King states:

African American women are 4.8 times more likely to have abortions than white women. Even though blacks comprise only 13 percent of the population, we receive 37 percent of all abortions. Perhaps most revealing — seven offices of Planned Parenthood were caught on tape this year as willing to accept donations for the sole purpose of aborting black babies.

Another Reason Why ESCR Isn’t Necessary
Posted by: Maria Vitale @ 7:09 am

Here is yet another reason why destructive embryonic stem cell research isn’t necessary, courtesy of Fox News:

In what could lead to new and less controversial approaches for treating conditions like diabetes and Parkinson’s disease, researchers in Boston announced Thursday that they have made significant progress in creating stem cells from human skin — without using human embryos.

And note this interesting comment from a Fox medical expert:

Dr. Manny Alvarez, senior managing health editor of FoxNews.com, said this is a very significant finding for several reasons.

“The transformation of adult stem cells into more ‘embryonic-like’ cells is quite important,” he said. “It will allow scientists to discover ways where we might be able to eradicate certain diseases. But at the same time it will provide a platform where more cellular re-engineering could take place. This means these cells can potentially create organs and improve the lives of patients.”
Alvarez said this is the type of science the military could look to in the future to minimize injuries in the battlefield.
