The health care reform bill unveiled by Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) would mean public funding of abortion–something that the majority of Americans oppose, according to public opinion polls. Reid’s bill eliminates the Stupak-Pitts Amendment, which barred federal funding of abortion in the House version of health care reform.
